Stadium concerts never fail to amaze us and last week’s Ed Sheeran concerts were no different. We have had the pleasure of working with Hampden Park for over 10 years and we’ve provided cleaning and waste management services at concerts featuring some of the world’s biggest names. AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Beyoncé, Take That and the Rolling Stones are just a few of the super-groups who have entertained Scottish audiences at Hampden over recent years.
These concerts usually always feature a large stage presence of musicians and backing signers, but Ed Sheeran’s concerts were different – each of the three nights, he took to the stage alone and captivated the 50,000+ audience with his signing and song-writing talents, it was truly impressive and thoroughly entertaining.
Of course, whether the stage is full of artists or not, the 50,000+ people who attended each night did leave behind considerable waste and our task was to quickly clear it up, dispose of it responsibly and get the stadium ready for the next show. Our experienced team worked tirelessly last week to make sure Hampden was ready to receive Ed’s adorning fans on each day of the concert. Immediately each concert finishes, Spectrum’s Events Team quickly mobilise to prepare the stadium for the next concert.
Interestingly, and perhaps contrary to what you may think, the final night of a concert run can be the most demanding; all stadium concerts have enormous stage sets that have to be dismantled quickly to in order to meet the tour deadlines. So, on the final night Spectrum’s focus changes from stadium preparation to making sure the tour’s personnel have quick and safe access to be able to start packing and moving vast volumes of equipment. It’s all part of the job for our experienced team, we thank them for the continued hard work they put in during abnormal hours to make sure everything is ‘Perfect’ on the night – every night.
See photos from the concert below – it goes with out saying it was an extremely busy event!
