Case Studies Champions Of Tennis

The Champions of Tennis was an ATP Tour event hosted at the Edinburgh Academicals Ground in Stockbridge in Edinburgh in 2013.  The event attracted some of the greatest legend of the game including, John McEnroe, Tim Henman & Goran Ivanisevic.

This was a good example of a complete temporary overlay where a rugby pitch was converted to a tennis arena, complete with roof and match standard floodlighting.  Everything for the hosting of the tournament was imported and constructed especially for the high profile event.

Spectrum was delighted to be part of such a high profile tennis event, the likes of which are rarely seen in Scotland.  We provided full cleaningwaste management, and project management services for the Champions of Tennis event.  Our duties extended to all public areas, including the seating arena and the court, changing facilities, players lounges, official and technical facilities, public catering and hospitality  areas.

As with any temporary overlay event, we worked closely with the tournament organisers to ensure cleaning and waste removal began during the build-up period, through the competition, and until the end of the break-down period.  THese events require careful planning and a certain amount of flexibility to respond to changing schedules and unforeseen events.  We are extremely experienced at providing a service that can deploy additional staff when required in order to accommodate unplanned, and unavoidable, changes to the plan.
